had a very shiny nose

Then one foggy Christmas eve
Santa came to say:
"Rudolph with your nose so bright,

Rudolph the red-nosed reindeer,

Rudolfnak, a piros orrú rénszarvasnak
Nagyon fényes orra volt.
És ha valaha láttad,
Azt mondanád, mintha ragyogna.

Az összes többi rénszarvas
Régebben kinevette és gúnynevekkel illette őt.
Sosem engedték meg szegény Rudolfnak,
Hogy csatlakozzon a rénszarvasok játékaihoz.

Aztán egy ködös szenteste
Télapó jött, és azt mondta:
"Rudolf, az annyira piros orroddal
Nem irányítanád a szánom ma este?"

Onnantól kezdve az összes rénszarvas szerette őt,
örömmel kiáltották:
Rudolf, a piros orrú rénszarvas,
Be fogsz vonulni a történelembe!
